Lightbridge Academy begins construction at Durham Farms


Lightbridge Academy recently opened the land at Durham Farms in Hendersonville, marking the nursery school’s second location in Sumner County.

An inauguration ceremony took place last February in Gallatin. The two locations are the first planned in Tennessee for the school.

Representatives from Lightbridge Academy, Freehold Communities, Durham Farms and City of Hendersonville officials came together to welcome the Kindergarten to the community as the first community-driven business of the popular Blueprint.

The new facility is slated to open in late winter or early spring 2022 at 351 Azalea Circle near The Farmhouse in the development

During her remarks, franchisee Eilleen Johnson said she took a moment to honor one of the late project partners, Patrick Leroy McCluskey.

“We know he played a big part in that vision and in this journey,” Johnson said.

Among those in attendance for the event were the Mayor of Hendersonville, Jamie Clary, and the President and CEO of the Hendersonville Area Chamber of Commerce, Kathleen Hawkins.

“Nothing excites a Chamber of Commerce more than watching the economy continue to grow and prosper,” said Hawkins, adding that Lightbridge “complements (the community of Durham Farms).”

Clary agreed, adding her support for the location of the preschool, which he said has an impact on traffic.

“One is you keep the people here in Hendersonville, which means they’re going to spend more money in Hendersonville, which helps me build roads. The other is that by keeping people here and being able to drop their kids off here, they don’t have to traffic elsewhere, and I really appreciate that.

What Lightbridge Academy offers

Billed as a private preschool for children aged six weeks to kindergarten, the school strives to provide families with state-of-the-art programming, including ParentView internet monitoring and real-time communication throughout the day.

Lightbridge Academy’s Seedlings Early Childhood Education Program is an exclusive, research-based program built on the principles of multiple intelligences from Howard Gardner, basic trust concepts from Jean Piaget and others from Fredrich Fröbel. , Loris Malaguzzi and Maria Montessori.
