Business leaders and education providers took part in a panel discussion with Lord Agnew of the Treasury in Darlington.
It was organized by the training provider Learning Curve Group in its Business Academy in town.
The discussion focused on the current digital skills gap and the urgent need for digital skills training to engage in the future.
Lord Agnew, a Cabinet Office and Treasury Minister, said: “The Learning Curve Group Business Academy is a fantastic alternative to college. Although I am not against the university route, I believe that young people should have a range of opportunities to develop the skills they need.
“Digital skills are an essential part of the modern workforce and I encourage employers to engage with organizations like Learning Curve Group to improve the skills of their employees to equip them with the tools to be successful. ”
Judith Allen, Director of Academies at LCG, said: “It has been fantastic to have the support of Lord Agnew and our roundtable participants in our mission to deliver training that will bridge the current digital skills gap and respond at the request of employers.
At Learning Curve Group, we strive to transform lives through learning, and we believe that through our innovative courses at our Darlington Business Academy, we can support the next generation to successful careers in the digital sector.
