The journalists obtained a citation from the research of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration“But since the COVID19 pandemic, our appetite, Romanians, to generate protection for ourselves and our loved ones has increased exponentially. Thus, from 2020 until now, the majority of insurers holding health insurance products or products with capitalization in their portfolio have recorded increases in gross written premiums and obviously in the level of premiums collected. Using the quantitative research method (empirical data, taken from official open sources on the insurance market), we will follow the evolution of the portfolio of insurance companies and identify the evolution of consumer needs for such products. The analysis carried out with customers shows the needs of people to protect themselves both from illness and from financial challenges (cases in which the pandemic has also affected the social sector, thus generating job losses and ultimately depriving entire families income).

According to the editors, the study concluded: “While in 2020 the major players in the insurance market were making enormous efforts to meet their sales targets at the life portfolio level, in 2021 most of of them have succeeded in developing their client portfolio and offering insurance solutions to everyone, in a sustainable way.
